GEORGINA A. WHITLAW

1937 – 2026

Predeceased by her loving husband J. P. (Jack) in 2013. Georgina was predeceased by her parents, Thomas James and Evelyn May (Steen) Code; and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Ellen and Henry Stutroet, Muriel and Leslie Kiddle, Gwendolyn and Manley Mott, and Iris Allan; as well as nieces and nephews.

She will be lovingly remembered by her remaining nieces and nephews and their families in Ontario, Michigan, and Alberta; and her three special godchildren, David, Brenda, and Lisa, and their families.

To voice her own words: "How very fortunate am I to have been surrounded by so much love and laughter. First by my parents and sisters and then by my husband, family, and friends. Life has been great with no regrets."

Georgina's family is especially grateful to the hospitals, doctors, and nurses for their competent and compassionate care. And finally, and perhaps most importantly, Georgina's "family of friends." Without this group of strong and competent friends, her life would have been more trying. Thank you and you know who you are.

In keeping with Georgina’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held.

Donations to a charity of your choice.

  • Dearest Georgie, Where do we begin? There is such a deep hole in our hearts and souls. You were the fairy godmother who was never supposed to leave us. How so very blessed, enriched, and fortunate we are to have had you and Jack in our lives. You will always be a part of us. How do we thank you? How do we say that final goodbye? You and Jack were ALWAYS there for us - throughout our university days, wedding, the birth of our 3 beautiful girls who also adore and cherish you both, and all the trials and tribulations before, during, and afterwards. We still think about picking up the phone to say hello, chastise you for the walker you finally got but still kept far outside your reach, and share some great laughs. But then reality sinks in and we are starkly reminded of our profound loss. You taught us to be better people. You were there for so many without ever a thought to ask for anything in return. That's just who you and Jack were. We take comfort in knowing that you are now reunited with Jack and many of your loved ones yet selfishly wish that you were still here with us. But in reality, you ARE still here with us and always will be. We love you very much Georgie. Thank you for being such wonderful people and for loving us back. We wish we could have been there for you over the years and will always feel guilty about not being there in your most challenging times. Our decision to move away from you was only because that's where life took us. Rest in Peace dear fairy godmother. No doubt there is a very special place in Heaven for you. Our world is much darker now. - Posted by: Dave and Gail Pochailo (Family) on: Jun 01, 2026
